Israel, Oct 7, 2023.
The situation is.. Terrible. Terrible.
We are personally OK, for now, though bombs are falling all around us as I write. We can hear the BOOM... the sirens wail, in their piercing blast the cries of mothers, children, soldiers.. A nation brought to its knees, stunned and horrified.
In the south , it's a complete nightmare. 600 dead. 2000 wounded. 53 hostages!.and numbers growing!!
This is worse than anything Israel has experienced in her short and tumultuous history.
But the writing was on the wall!
This is what I was warning against all these years, me and others like me, sadly a small but indefatigable crew. We were hated and boycotted, labeled traitors and shamed by all those who refused to see the simple truth we were telling , who turned their backs to the suffering and indignity of others, who sinned the sin of arrogance and hubris, hardening their hearts and feeding the monster with lies. This is their punishment.
The tragedy of history is that innocent masses pay for the sins of a greedy, crazed, power hungry few.
Now we must bury our dead, wait with insane worry for news of the missing, with no choice but to deposit our fate in the hands of a psychotic lot of charlatans, zealots and criminals and pray for peace .
It's simply, devastating.
But maybe, maybe, after the funerals and fingerprinting and the heart wrenching cries of the broken mothers and fathers,
the flood waters will subside,
and the blood will be wiped away.
Maybe then, we will begin, finally, to see the light,
to BE the light
and to begin... Again.
