🎃🦌 Don’t throw away pumpkins after Halloween. Find woods or a field near you, smash them open, cut them up into smaller pieces, and leave for wildlife to eat. Pumpkin is safe for them, and the seeds act as a natural dewormer. 2.5 billion pumpkins are produced each year, and only 20% get reused. The rest end up in landfills. So recycle those pumpkins to wildlife and provide a food source for hungry animals. Win-win. 🎃🎃

Heads up!

Heads up - literally! If you're a fan of the Northern Lights, you'll have a chance to see them Thursday night! Skies should be fairly clear, which should give us a pretty good chance at seeing them all across the Badger state, especially from sunset to around midnight.

Concerning New Feature on iPhone Update

The latest iOS 17 update for iPhones has introduced a new feature called “NameDrop” which is automatically enabled when the iPhone is updated. This feature shares your contact information when your phone is in close proximity to another device.

To disable this feature, navigate to your phone’s ‘Settings’, then select ‘General’, followed by ‘AirDrop’, and finally, ‘Bringing Devices Together’. Here, you can switch this option to OFF.

Police departments across the country are warning parents to change these settings on their children’s phones to keep them safe.

Thankful…

Look at his face.

This 19 year old American Soldier on D-Day had one job: retrieve his fallen comrades from the blood red waters of Utah Beach. For 12 straight hours he toiled in the cold surf, using his bare hands to drag the lifeless, floating bodies to shore.
Another.
And another.
And another.
He kept going back into the bloody surf.
The final body he dragged ashore. He covered it with another drab, damp Army green tarp. Waiting the medical examiner and chaplain his knees finally gave out. The 19 year old boy collapsed on top of the body. Fell to the salty sand in exhaustion and pain. The weight ached in his shoulders, back, legs and arms - the pain of physically carrying the price of freedom.

Look at his face.
You can see it.
The price for freedom.

90% of the soldiers on the first boats to hit the beach didn't live to see the end of the day. Some of them never made it to 18. Never voted. Never loved a woman, or owned a home.
They did this for you.
Live lives worthy of their sacrifice.
