The Initial layout for a new 600+ foot tunnel in the Columbia Gorge. Here is the layout of the East end. This tunnel will be part of the bike trail that is being constructed along the South side of the Gorge. Not much room, that is I-84 behind the fence and 200-feet down. The second photo shows the gap the tunnel will go around. This narrow piece of road was the original 1915 Columbia highway. The narrow roadbed you see was all old tunnel along with the blown out gap area when they built the freeway, but left a portion of the old roadbed which you see here. So the tunnel's history is added to give a bit of historical context. Additional photo will be added as the construction move along.

Thrown off an overpass, in Sacramento California. Caught the passenger in chest piercing lung and breaking 4 ribs. They charged the guy with attempted murder.

Weighty problem

In 1903, surveyors started conducting "wire-drag" surveys. A weighted wire set to a certain depth was attached to two boats. If the wire encountered an obstruction, it would become tight and form a "V,” revealing the depth and position of rocks and other obstructions underwater.

Assessor’s Map from Whitman County WA Assessor’s Office. This is the same County that is home Washington State University, recipient of every new software/technique that Microsoft creates. Obvious the effect on the Assessor’s office has been minimal.
