: Bosacki's Boathouse, Minocqua 🚤

For decades, Bosacki's Boathouse was one of Minocqua's most iconic landmarks, sitting right on the water at the north end of the Highway 51 bridge. Originally tied to Minocqua's early boating and tourism history, the boathouse became so well known that people across the Midwest often associated Minocqua with "Bosacki's." In July 1972, a devastating fire destroyed the beloved marina, but overwhelming community support led to its reconstruction despite regulations that normally would have prevented rebuilding so close to the water. Today, the location lives on as The Boathouse, continuing its legacy as a Northwoods gathering place. The Boat house is Currently closed for renovations but is promised to come back with the same charm.

Go take a look at The Boathouse's facebook, they recently had Ed the Diver diving out front and found some pretty cool relics from the Bosaki fire!

Fun fact: The original site dates back to the early 1900s as a boat livery and repair operation before becoming the famous Bosacki's Boathouse.

Dr. Kate Newcomb wasn’t just a doctor , she was practically a one-person public health department for the Northwoods! 🌲❤️

In addition to caring for patients and delivering thousands of babies, Dr. Kate worked to improve entire communities by addressing issues like unsafe drinking water, poor sanitation, and contaminated milk supplies. She understood that keeping people healthy meant preventing illness before it started.

At a time when many rural communities had limited access to healthcare and public health resources, Dr. Kate went above and beyond to make life better for the people she served.

Every year, families gather around campfires, friends reconnect on the dock, and new traditions are made at our vacation homes. While we love sharing beautiful photos of the Northwoods, it's our guests' memories and experiences that truly make Northwoods Navigator Vacations special.
