Always being proactive, I have applied for a USDA Rural Home Improvement Grant ($10,000) to make our home's entryway handicapped accessible. WE want a new front porch and back door deck.

USDA require that I get a bid from a local licensed contractor, who must also provide a copy of their license if selected to do the work.

My Inquiry: Are you that Licensed Contractor who has experienced with USDA home improvement grants, willing to come to Woodson, complete and submit a bid for this job and license to help us get this grant?

Note: This is the only uncompleted item holding up this grant!
If you are that person, know that person who may be interested get with me ASAP?

The Enhancing Agricultural Opportunities for Military Veterans Program provides grants to non-profits to increase the number of military veterans gaining knowledge and skills through comprehensive, hands-on and immersive model farm and ranch programs offered regionally that lead to successful careers in the food and agricultural sector.

The program encourages the development of training opportunities specifically designed for military veterans. AgVets projects will offer onsite, hands-on training and classroom education leading to a comprehensive understanding of successful farm and ranch operations and management practices. Projects may also offer workforce readiness and employment prospects for service-disabled veterans. Ensuring there are pathways for military veterans interested in pursuing careers in agriculture — regardless of age or production choice — strengthens agricultural production and rural economies across the United States.

While military veterans are eligible for most USDA programs, a hands-on immersive training experience has been identified as a critical strategy for helping interested individuals enter into and sustain successful careers in farming, ranching, and agribusiness. Through targeted outreach, strategic collaboration and partnership, including evaluation, well-designed pilot programs can assist veterans in gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to secure meaningful job and career opportunities that increase individual, family, and community vitality.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Where is the Community Pride?
This page has a photo of the store that was a well-known community family black business. Today that location is the latest dumping grounds in Woodson. When we purchased the Doc Brown property 2018, little did we know that property was also a dumping area for trash, debris and discarded furniture. When we decided to make Woodson a part of our retirement living space, we had to spend hundreds of dollars and removed hundreds of pounds of trash plus an old collapsed house just to make the property livable.
I see people posting and viewing posts, but very little interaction and communication. Someone posted a flyer in the post office, I saw it. Good Notice.
If we don't talk about it, how can we work together to correct it?
Today's post also comes with a new photo!
Again, where is the Community Pride?
