Yesterday was an amazing day! Had a smooth and joyous closing with Maggie, and her son, Justin. We first met over a year ago when they started planning to buy a house. When the time was right for them, we got the ball rolling and found them the perfect place for them to call home! Yesterday, they got the keys and I could feel the happiness in the room. A dream came true! These two are sweet friends of mine now and I wish them the absolute best with their new journey ❤️

Despite all that has been happening, home prices have only decreased 2% in the last 12 months, per the Case-Schiller index (which also includes cash sales, distressed properties, investments, etc). So, homeowners, it’s still an amazing time to sell at a great price!

But what about rates? Rates peaked at 7.25% recently as Wall Street sold off, due to concerns over the national debt ceiling and impending defaults. Boo…the good news? While raising the debt ceiling may draw other concerns, along with new numbers out on unemployment, job creations, and wage inflation, there is a net positive effect for inflation, inching rates back to the 6s. We may not see the glory days of 2-3% rates for some time, but the current trend is positive and lenders are responding with great programs. Need an amazing lender to find out how you qualify?
