You’re cruising down I-75… music blasting… sweet tea in the cupholder… just trying to hit ONE simple exit…

Then it happens.

One missed sign.
One hesitant lane change.
One moment of: “Eh… I still got time.”

Wrong. 😭

Now suddenly you’re committed to I-285 whether you wanted to be or not, watching your actual exit disappear into the distance while six lanes of Atlanta traffic move like everybody’s late for a Braves game, a flight out of Hartsfield-Jackson, and an emergency Waffle House meeting all at once. 💀

Meanwhile your GPS calmly says:
“Recalculating…”

Like it didn’t just completely destroy your entire afternoon. 😭

In Georgia, missing one exit doesn’t mean a quick turnaround.

It means:
“Congratulations… your 10-minute drive is now a 45-minute statewide adventure.”

You start confident:
“I’ll just loop around.”

Fifteen minutes later:
“Why am I near Marietta?”
“Why did traffic completely stop for no reason?”
“Why are there somehow FOUR different I-85 lanes now?”
“WHY AM I BACK ON I-285 AGAIN??”

And the SECOND you miss your chance to merge back over?

That’s it.

You belong to the interstate now.

No gap. No mercy. Just lifted trucks, aggressive commuters, random construction barrels, Altimas moving at spiritually concerning speeds, and somebody cutting across four lanes trying to make the Buford Highway exit at the last possible second. 😭

Georgia highways don’t just test your driving.

Dear Cobb County Residents,

We are currently experiencing extreme drought conditions in the County. The annual statewide burn ban is in effect for all yard waste
materials such as leaves and limbs until September 30. Currently, the ban does not include recreational fires, bonfires, or fires for the purpose of cooking. Additional information is provided on the Cobb County Fire Marshal’s Office (CCFMO) webpage:
https://www.cobbcounty.gov/fire/fire-marshals-office/outdoor-burning. Extreme caution should be taken if you have any of the fires allowed during the drought conditions. We will continue to monitor the drought conditions and inform citizens if the burn ban
expands to include all fires.

The use of consumer fireworks does not fall under the County’s burn ban. Furthermore, the County does not have the authority to ban
the use of consumer fireworks under O.C.G.A Tile 25 Section 25-10-2.1. The State Fire Marshal can ban the use of fireworks. CCFMO will notify the residents if such ban is issued by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

CCFMO recommends NOT using consumer fireworks and encourages all citizens to attend one professional firework shows in the
County. Below are the typical professional fireworks shows that are on or around Fourth of July:

• City of Marietta
• City of Kennesaw
• City of Powder Springs
• City of Acworth
• Mt. Paran North Church of God
• Marietta Country Club
• Governor’s Town Club
• Pine Tree Country Club
• Indian Hills Country Club
• Town Green – Legacy Park

The State Law was recently amended to include penalties for injury to another person or damage to other property from the use of
consumer fireworks.

If you see active outdoor burning that is not within the ordinance or appears out of control contact 911 to report the issue.
