Some closings just hit a little differently, and this was definitely one of them!

I had the pleasure of helping this beautiful young family sell their home as they prepare for their next adventure! And this one was extra special because the husband is one of our very own City of Woodstock first responders! 🚓

Let me tell you, these sellers understood the assignment! They worked SO hard getting their home ready to hit the market, and it absolutely showed!

How do I know? Well, when the buyers walked through the front door, the wife actually started CRYING because she loved the home so much! 🥹❤️

Now THAT is how you know you’ve made a house feel like a home!

There’s something pretty special about watching one family close a chapter while another gets ready to make their own memories in the very same place.

A little history about our town of Woodstock. I did not know this!

Woodstock’s Turkey Has a Story of His Own

Woodstock, GA:

Long before downtown Woodstock became the busy place it is today, a wild turkey had already made himself right at home along Main Street.

His name was Bob the Turkey, although some people remember him as Tom.

Around 2011, the turkey started showing up near Main Street and the Serenade neighborhood. He wasn't afraid of people or traffic, and apparently had a particular interest in cars. He was known to walk right up to vehicles and peck at their tires, including police cars.
Before long, people around town knew him.

Sadly, Bob was hit and killed by a car in January 2012.

But that wasn't the end of his story.

Residents made arrangements for him to be buried near Serenade, and Diane Geeslin, a local resident, helped raise money for a memorial. The City of Woodstock commissioned artist Bruce Weinzetl, known as the "Junkman Artist," to create a metal sculpture in Bob's honor.

Today, the sculpture sits at Main Street and Oak Street in downtown Woodstock.

It's easy to walk past it without knowing the story behind it. But the next time you see Woodstock's metal turkey, you'll know he was once a real part of the downtown scene.
