The Real Estate market is still Hot!

The monthly statistics for May show the Georgia MLS real estate marketplace is energized and that buyers and sellers remain actively engaged in the housing market. While year over year statistics still lag behind 2019, there are encouraging gains made over last month’s numbers. Highlights for May include significant increases in both Under Contract and New Listings. The statistics show Pending Sales were up 36% over the previous month, and are just slightly down 3% from the same period last year. New Listings for May show sellers are entering the marketplace and are up 13% from April.

USA Today reports that home prices rose at their slowest pace in more than six years in January, based on the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-city home price index. The houses are becoming more affordable, with the sales of existing homes soaring in February. Mortgage rates have also recently fallen. Cheaper homes and lower rates, it's a perfect combination for the spring market!
