Just because the flip house looks good on the outside doesn’t mean it looks good on the inside.

Here’s a look inside an attic where insulation is missing, this is something homebuyers would never see without a professional inspection. Missing or inadequate insulation can lead to higher energy bills, uneven indoor temperatures, and moisture-related issues over time.

Always get a thorough home inspection before buying, especially when the property looks “newly renovated.”

During a recent inspection, I discovered a gas fireplace vent completely covered with a steel plate.
This might not look like much at first glance—but it’s actually a serious safety hazard.

🔥 When a gas fireplace can’t vent properly, combustion gases (including carbon monoxide) can become trapped inside the home. This can lead to dangerous air quality conditions or even carbon monoxide poisoning.

✅ This is exactly why home inspections are so important.
Even something hidden or seemingly “sealed off” can put your family’s health and safety at risk.

Whether buying, selling, or maintaining your home—always make sure it’s inspected by a licensed professional who takes the time to check every detail.

During a recent attic inspection, I found that some engineered roof trusses had been cut. Trusses are designed to support the structure of the roof, and any alteration can weaken their integrity and affect the roof’s stability.

If you’re planning attic modifications or repairs, consult a qualified contractor or structural engineer before making changes.

During yesterday’s home inspection, we found rafter separation in the attic. This may not look major at first, but it can lead to serious problems—like sagging rooflines, water intrusion, and costly structural repairs if left unchecked.

These hidden issues are exactly why a home inspection matters. Catching them early can save you thousands down the road.

On today’s home inspection, we found an overflowing aerobic septic tank.

Turns out, the pump wasn’t working, and things were started to back up. This kind of issue can be a major headache (and a major expense) if it goes unnoticed.

That’s why getting a home inspection is so important when purchasing a home.

Found a electrical hazard in an attic today. An attic fan was wired using a spliced extension cord; this is unsafe and not meant for permanent appliances. Proper electrical wiring should always be used. To make matters worse, the open splices weren’t in a junction box, which increases the risk of fire or electrical failure. All connections should be properly enclosed.

Know more. Risk less. That’s the value of a home inspection
