🚨 REALTOR CONFESSION TIME 🚨
When we tell sellers to declutter before listing, we’re not being picky…
We’re trying to save you from becoming the star of a buyer’s next dinner conversation. 😂
Because here’s a little secret: buyers open closets. ALL of them.
And if your closet looks like it survived a tornado, a Black Friday sale, and a midlife crisis all at once… they WILL notice. 😳
This weekend, Mark and I decided to practice what we preach and tackle a closet of our own.
Results:
✅ 4 trash bags filled
✅ 2 donation piles
✅ 1 vacuum overheated
✅ 37 “What are we even saving this for?” conversations
✅ Mark trying to keep a shirt from 1997 because “it might come back in style”
At one point I wasn’t sure if we were cleaning a closet or excavating an archaeological site. 🏺😂
The good news? A clean, organized closet makes your home feel larger, better cared for, and move-in ready.
The bad news? Mark is now emotionally attached to three extension cords, a broken flashlight, and a pair of jeans that haven’t fit since the Clinton administration. 🤦♀️
So if you’re thinking about selling, take it from us:
Don’t make buyers wonder if your closet is holding the house together.
And if you need help deciding what stays and what goes… call us.
We’ll bring the real estate advice.
Mark will bring the emotional support for your old junk. 😆
