There are only a few days left for public comment on Cuffs Run. My stance on why this is important to us - We currently don't need energy locally here in PA, as they just shut down TMI due to lack of demand. My understanding is that all the peak power from this project goes to Md & Va., not PA or York county at all. Also, this project does NOT produce any electricity. It would use more electricity than it produces, because it simply takes far more energy to pump the water up, than the energy captured as it flows back down through the turbines. (27yr retired Electronics teacher here, who wrote my Masters thesis and did research in Solar energy) We need to build modern Nuke plants to solve our short term (100+ year) needs for electricity production in my opinion - Nothing other than fossil fuels & modern Nuclear can support the growing demand but politicians around the cities that need the energy - block energy projects in their area. Wind & solar are not really viable options in our time.
