🚨🚨 Please see the important transportation update for the Wyalusing Area School District.

🚌🚌 Buses 2, 6, 7, 8, 11, 14, 16, 20, 29, & 101 and Vans 96 & 103 have been affected by the closure of the Rainbow River Bridge.

If your student rides one of these vehicles and a detour is required, please expect delays in afternoon drop-off times for at least two weeks.

Update from the Wyalusing Area School District regarding the closure of the Rainbow Bridge:

Travel Advisory
This evening at approximately 17:22hrs a tractor trailer hauling an excavator was attempting to cross the Rainbow Bridge on the Wyalusing New Albany Road in Wyalusing when the top of the excavator struck the bridge. Emergency crews are on location along with representatives from PennDOT. At this time the bridge will be closed overnight pending PennDOT inspection teams evaluating the integrity of the bridge tomorrow.

The exact length of time the bridge will be closed is not clear at this time. Additional information will be made available tomorrow following PennDOTs inspection.

The school district has been contacted and is evaluating transportation needs for school students.

Please plan alternative routes.

Due to icy conditions in various parts of our district, the Wyalusing Area School District will operate on a 2 Hour Delay today, Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
