Don’t Wait for the Basement to Become a Pool 🌊🏠**

With the spring rains hitting Michigan, your sump pump is officially the most important piece of equipment in your home. If it fails, a finished basement can be ruined in under an hour.

* **Mechanical Failure:** Pumps have a lifespan. If yours is over 7 years old, it’s living on borrowed time.
* **The "Float" Test:** Debris can get stuck in the pit, pinning the float switch down so the pump never turns on.
* **Power Outages:** Heavy storms usually bring wind. If your power goes out and you don't have a **battery backup**, that pump is useless exactly when you need it most.

**The 30-Second DIY Check:**
Pour a 5-gallon bucket of water into your sump pit. If the pump doesn’t kick on immediately and drain the water, give us a call.
