Best time - when you get your first draft back. Before any selections are made or any mechanical drawings are done. Zero cost to make adjustments at this point.

Next best - before the foundation is poured. You still have time to make significant changes without breaking the bank.

Last chance - framing stage. You’re not going to change the footprint of the home, but many key areas are still in play. Door swings, kitchen layout, closet orientation, and many other things can still be adjusted.

The earlier in the process the better, but it’s not too late until drywall is going up. Then it gets very expensive to make any changes!!
