One year ago today, my life changed forever.
I still remember the moment I saw my car after the accident. I cried harder than I ever had before because deep down, I knew how close I came to not being here anymore.
Hospitalized with a lacerated spleen, internal bleeding, a concussion, bruised retina, and a broken tailbone… physically I was broken, but mentally, emotionally, financially I was in one of the darkest places of my life.
There were moments I questioned everything. Moments filled with fear, pain, frustration, and tears no one saw. But somehow, through God’s grace, healing, love from the people around me, and strength I didn’t know I had… I made it through.
Today, I look at life differently. The little moments mean more. The laughs are louder. The memories feel more precious. I don’t take waking up for granted anymore.
A seatbelt saved my life that night, but this experience also saved me in ways I never expected. It reminded me how fragile life is and how important it is to truly LIVE it.
One year later, I’m still healing in some ways, but I’m also smiling bigger, loving harder, and making memories with my favorite people and remembering the loved one i did lose.
Forever grateful to still be here. 🤍
