Did you know that FPGC partners with HALO K9 Rescue to provide housing for our families' dogs?

Many displaced families have a family dog that is just as much a part of the family as humans are. To keep their animals, FPGC partnered with HALO and created "Jeff's Place" in 2021 through a special grant from PetSmart Charities, which enabled the creation of a safe haven for pets while families stayed at the shelter and rebuilt their lives.

What started in 1995 as a few churches opening their doors has grown into a county-wide promise. For over30 years, Family Promise of Greene County has walked with families through housing crises—offering dignity, safety, and hope.

Today, Schneider House of Hope serves as our base of operations, but our heart is still in the community.

We love having volunteer groups from our local universities come and serve at the shelter! This spring, we had a wonderful AKA chapter from Wilberforce University come and spend many hours assisting with organizing the shelter and making breakfast for our families. They did an amazing job and we are so thankful!

Since 2020, homelessness among children in Ohio has increased by 10%, while the number of families experiencing homelessness has risen by 11%. Families are being pushed to the edge by rising housing costs and impossible choices.

Thank you again to the Xenia Rotary Club for this gift! It helps us continue our work in Greene County, serving homeless families.

We were thrilled to present a $500 check to Feather Birdsong (pictured with President Eric) and the Family Promise of Greene County Ohio to support their annual Golf Marathon which supports the ongoing needs and expenses of the homeless shelter, Schneider House of Hope, in Xenia.
