Traverse City is always everything I hope it will be when I visit—beautiful landscapes, fresh air, endless things to explore, and all the little moments that make a getaway special. 🌿🌊

But the best part of this trip was getting to spend time with a longtime friend. ❤️

Some visits are fun. Some are memorable. And some fill your heart and soul in a way you didn’t even realize you needed.

This one was definitely the latter.

I left Traverse City grateful for the beauty, the adventures, and especially for a 30 year friendship that reminded me just how good it feels to reconnect, laugh, talk, and simply be together.

Turns out, I needed this visit even more than I knew. ❤️

Today, we remember the thousands of innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families, friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever changed by their loss. We also honor the first responders, military members, and everyday heroes who showed extraordinary courage that day and in the days that followed.

Here in Dayton, we are especially proud of our strong military community and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. As a Military Relocation Professional (MRP), I’m honored to serve those who serve our country and their families.

Was a part of something special yesterday. I think my buddy, Joe, who nearly swam across Lake Charlevoix had the best response…

Ahoy,

You know, a simple “thank you” just won’t suffice this time. You, my friend, are a hero. Because of you, we were able to raise over $9000 to help feed people who are struggling to find their next meal. You did that. Think about that for a second. Because of you, someone in Dayton didn’t have to go hungry.

Things didn’t go as planned today and the lake bested me. We faced some difficult currents which put me behind by about two hours and the combination of fatigue and nausea was too much to overcome. Eventually, we had to make for shore after about 7.5 hours and just short of 10 miles. It’s frustrating when your heart has to admit defeat due to the limitations of the body.

A special thank you to my support crew: Molly, Bob, Dove, Heidi, and Amy. And a huge thank you to Michael Knote, the founder of Have a Gay Day pantry. None of this would be possible without all of you.
