We lost. Objection overruled, motion denied, case closed. 😂⚖️

I was Sue “Black Widow” Allen — defendant, not innocent, allegedly. Don played my co-defendant, Mikey “The Hammer” Allen. The jury did not buy what we were selling. The wig, however, won the day — staying on well past the courtroom, no further questions.
Three Core Law CE credits and I understood commission disputes better by 10am than I have in years of just reading about them. Sitting in the hot seat while a real attorney cross-examines you will do that.
Round 2. We’ll be back for blood (and better hair).

Tomorrow, 9 AM, I trade in my listing presentations for a courtroom drama. Please come support me (Sue "Black Widow" Allen) and my Mikey as we defend the honor of We Are the Champions Real Estate at the Dayton Board of Realtors mock trial.

Being from Jersey myself, I had to dig deep into my roots to bring that accent back out.

Rehearsal alone last week had me in tears laughing — can't imagine what tomorrow holds.

CE credits never looked so good.

Pleather is involved...and maybe some regret.

We did our table read for the 2026 Mock Trial yesterday, and I'm telling you — this one is going to be good. I'm on the Professional Development Committee at Dayton REALTORS®, and this is my favorite kind of CE: learning by doing. "The Curious Case of the Contentious Commission" puts brokerage policies and commissions on trial, with real Realtors®, attorneys, and judges playing out the case. You watch, you help judge the winner, and you walk away with 3 Core Law CE credits.

Fair warning: I'm not much of an actress, and this takes me way out of my comfort zone. Come watch me try anyway.

And yes, that's Jennifer Zeller dancing. She's looking good out there. That's the energy this event is bringing.

I swing by dailydosecaffee in Wright Dunbar today and had the best quinoa salad — fresh, simple, exactly what I needed. After years of baking in Yellow Springs, Karina’s brought that same magic to Dayton, and you can feel it the second you walk in: hand-chalked menu on the wall, a case full of croissants and tarts, that new-shop shine that hasn’t worn off yet.

I hung out with Karina and Ryan behind the counter for a bit — good people, the kind of energy that makes you want to become a regular on day one.

They just had their grand opening Wednesday. Fellow villagers, fellow Daytonians — go say hi. Lattes, cold brew, croissants, tiramisu, the whole lineup. Support local, support Karina.

I think my palate was literally built on this man's food truck.

I ran into Patrick and Sage of at 2nd Street Market this morning. When Patrick called from out of state saying he was ready to come back, I got to work — that was the friend in me. The foodie may have also applied some pressure. 😌 I've been a fan since the food truck days years ago — Mediterranean-style, local veggies, combinations I'd never think of. These flavors are basically instilled in me at this point.

Then for breakfast dessert, we got croissants as big as your face. Mariano's a Yellow Springs local, and the mango ganache one should be illegal.

We're eating like hobbits today, and I have zero regrets. 🧝‍♀️

Creo que mi paladar se formó, literalmente, en el food truck de este señor.

Esta mañana me encontré a Patrick y Sage de en el 2nd Street Market. Cuando Patrick me llamó desde fuera del estado diciendo que estaba listo para volver, me puse a trabajar — esa fue la amiga en mí. Aunque la foodie también metió presión. 😌 Soy fan desde los días del food truck, hace años —me fascina su estilo mediterráneo, verduras locales, combinaciones que a mí jamás se me ocurrirían.

Estos sabores ya los llevo instalados.

Y de postre de desayuno, nos comimos unos croissants de del tamaño de tu cara. Mariano es de Yellow Springs, y el de ganache de mango debería ser ilegal.
