“Good things come to those who believe, Better things come to those who are patient, and the best things come to those who don’t give up.”

After two and a half years, I finally have good news to share with all of you. On Wednesday, January 24th the York Board of Appeals voted to overturn the York Planning Board’s decision from October 2017 regarding my property. The board voted 5-0 to approve the new lot lines, which will give me enough land to legally run Gammon Lawn Care out of our 632 York Street property. Just today we heard back from the judge regarding the “use“ of the property. Judge O’Neal has ruled that there is not a change of use on the property. To say my family and I are ecstatic is an understatement. We are relieved to not to worry about all of this.

One year ago today we lost a real good man, someone who I would call a good friend. It is an honor to be able to give out this good news today. We wish you were here Pete, to see this whole thing through until the end. We all miss you.

I just wanted to take the time and thank everyone who has continued to support my family and me through this hard time. On October 12th, at the planning board meeting, we ran out of time to complete discussions regarding my purchase and sales agreement. We will begin discussions again, this Thursday, October 26th, at 7pmat the York Public Library. Hopefully, we will be able to get some resolution this week. I’ve been told that we will be on the agenda first, so if you guys still have it in you, we’d love to see you there again. If anyone has any questions before Thursday, please reach out to me.

I would like to thank everyone who came out to the Planning Board meeting last Thursday, it was a long and drawn out meeting. I realize that it has taken me a few days to absorb and understand what happened at that meeting. For those who were not there, the Planning Board abruptly ended the meeting at 10:30 while they were in the middle of hearing the case. There was no talk of a decision one way or the other and we were unsure how or when the meeting would be continued. I just found out that they will be hearing the rest of the case on October 26th, at the York Public Library at 7 pm. It would be very helpful to my case if everyone could take one more night to support us. We hope that some sort of decision will be made. Having the community's support through all this has given us hope, and we are so appreciative.

I would like to thank everyone for continuing to support my family and me during this trying time here at Gammon Lawn Care. It has been a long and stressful road, and I am approached by friends, customers, and strangers on a daily basis, telling me not to give up. On Thursday October 12th we will be going to the planning board meeting at 7pm at the York Public Library in hopes to finally resolve this situation, and it would mean so much to my family and I to see you all there. Due to an error at the code enforcement office in 2014, I currently do not have enough square footage to operate my business at 632 York Street. I have been able to acquire enough land to meet the requirements, and we hope that the planning board will approve the new lot lines. Please spread the word, my family and I would greatly appreciate a large crowd of support at this meeting. Thank you.

09/14/2017

From the bottom of my heart I greatly appreciate all of the support that came from my friends and my community tonight. Unfortunately I did not win this but that will not stop me from protecting and fighting for what I have worked my whole career to build. Thank you all once again.

09/11/2017

For everyone who has been following "the saga" of events on my property, in York Harbor, myself and my family would first like to say thank you to everyone for the support you have shown and expressed over the last year. This week is the first of two important meetings coming up in the next several weeks. The first meeting is a Board of Appeals Meeting, this Wednesday, September 13th at 7 pm at the York Public Library.
On Wednesday I am appealing the Cease and Desist order, issued by the Town of York Code Enforcement in July 2017. I have met all requirements set forth by the Code Enforcement Office regarding this matter. I would greatly appreciate if those of you who are able to attend would come to the meeting at the library to show your support. My family and I, will be getting there a few minutes early and hope to see you there. Please spread the word and share this post! Thank you!
