About Kathleen Ritenour
Kathleen recently traded in her active license with Long and Foster Real Estate to become a referral agent with Metro Referrals. This will serve to maintain her real estate license in Virginia while she pursues her career back in what was her first love, Telecommunications Project Management. She served the Hampton Roads area as a REALTOR® for over 6 years with Long and Fo
ster, Yorktown-Peninsula Office. She has been working full time as a REALTOR® for the previous 7 years serving the Greater Charlottesville area residential real estate market helping home buyers, sellers and investors since 2009. Her concentration in residential home sales has covered single family homes, condominiums, new construction, second homes and investment property. Kathleen attended CNU (back when it was CNC) and graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in International Studies which led her to a move to Northern Virginia where she started what would be a dynamic and rewarding 14 year career in the Information Technology (IT) field as a Telecommunications Consultant and Manager while living in Northern Virginia and then Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her work included managing the information technology for corporations and serving as project manager designing and implementing IT infrastructures for office relocations and commercial building construction. She approached her work with a service attitude always looking for ways to improve processes. Her goal was always how to apply new technology to enable those who worked in her buildings to perform their jobs with more efficiency. After their second child was born and she completed all her projects she decided to take leave from her career to spend more time with her children. When her family relocated back to Virginia in 2007, to Charlottesville, it was time to get back to work and real estate was a natural match to use her project management skills and work in another dynamic field. Her professionalism, experience in technology, needs analysis, research and negotiation skills have served her clients well in real estate. Being an outgoing people person who never shies away from a challenge what she loves about working in real estate is how it marries technology and relationships. There is never a dull moment, always something new to learn that can be immediately applied to help the consumer and lots of opportunity to meet new people, as well as collaborate with people from different fields to bring a transaction to close. When not working, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family, biking, hiking, sightseeing, antique and thrift store shopping, knitting, reading and relaxing at home. Kathleen is committed to bringing the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards in service to her clients. Whether you are buying a home, selling a home, or investing in property Kathleen is eager to get to work on your behalf. It’s good to be home! Designations and Accolades
