Love watching the mourning doves!

🕊️ Mourning doves call most often during:

1️⃣ Early mornings
2️⃣ Breeding season
3️⃣ Moments of territory defense

That sad, haunting coo?
It’s usually a male dove calling for a mate.

🌱 The good news:

Mourning doves eat large amounts of:

w**d seeds
grass seeds
unwanted plants

Because of that, they can help naturally reduce common w**ds in yards and fields.

And yes… 😅
their nests really are famously flimsy-looking.

Most mourning dove nests are loosely built with twigs and often look unfinished or unstable. Somehow, they still work.

💛 So that peaceful morning cooing you hear?
Most of the time, it’s simply the sound of spring courtship and nesting season.

Today we remember the men and women who didn’t come home. Because of their courage and sacrifice, the rest of us get to enjoy the freedoms we too often take for granted.
