Home buyers that are waiting for interest rates to go down will have to deal with higher pricing when/if rates drop. Not only will it be a multiple-offer market again with buyers bidding up each other, but homes will cost more to build and naturally list prices will follow. Our new home builders are all ramping up production and planning for strong demand in 2024. If housing demand is what we predict it will be, then building material prices will continue to rise.

According to the latest Producer Price Index report, the price level of inputs to residential construction less energy (i.e., building materials) increased 0.2% in November after declining 0.4% in October.
