I read today from the New Koinonia Church ...
Might call this one "Heart Attack" or don't let your heart be attacked...!
some of the effects of unforgiveness and toxic thinking is the power of entanglement. Whenever two particles (or people) are in a relationship together, no matter how far apart they are, they still influence each other.
When we’re in a toxic mindset, we are generating toxic energy that damages ourselves and others. But when we choose to forgive and have an attitude of gratitude we are severing that entanglement and connection to that person or thing, which opens a door for us to heal mentally physically spiritually .... We can’t properly heal as long as we choose to remain in a bitter state toward people places and things, because the toxic connection remains.
When we stay in unforgiveness, we remain connected to the source of pain.
[Same with being constantly exposed to the negativity in the world around us, via the media, news, podcasts, social media, radio and TV, the bible says, "There is Nothing new under the sun"
We are supposed to magnify the name of the Lord, not the works of the devil] so Disconnect for a while!
Similar to charging your phone and keeping it on the charger, you continue recharging the negative energy.
It has been proven that, holding on to toxicity means that you hold on to toxic stress. Being unforgiving, having toxic thinking, hatred etc. constricts the blood vessels around the heart, which makes one much more susceptible to heart attack or stroke. It also reduces the amount of oxygen to the brain.
Mark 11:22-25 sheds even more light on the necessity of forgiveness:
“And Jesus answered them, ‘Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,
“Be taken up and thrown into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."
It’s interesting that there seems to be a qualification here for having our prayers heard. Harboring unforgiveness in our hearts can hinder our prayers being answered.
As I have stated before, unforgiveness, stress, toxic thinking, can also hinder our healing because, science has shown, it keeps our brains creating unhealthy neurotransmitters that wreak havoc on our bodies.
Unforgiveness, toxic ideas and thinking are truly destructive for us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. especially so if we voice our opinions, that is to say it out loud and share it with others.
