🔥 Wildfire is coming. Are you ready?
Creating and maintaining defensible space is one of the most effective ways to protect your home from wildfire. It gives firefighters the space they need to defend your property—and it could make the difference between a close call and a total loss.
🌲 Your defensible space is made up of two zones:
✅ Zone 1 (0–30 feet): Remove dead plants, grass, and leaves. Trim branches 10 feet away from your roof and chimney.
✅ Zone 2 (30–100 feet): Mow grass to 4 inches or less. Space out shrubs and trees both horizontally and vertically to slow fire spread.
💡 Pro tip: Do your yard work before 10 a.m. and never on hot, dry, or windy days to avoid accidentally starting a fire.
100 feet of defensible space isn’t just a recommendation—it’s California law. Start preparing today!
