Some days remind you just how much we can do for one another.

Today I had the opportunity to serve with Heart & Home Makeovers as we helped turn an empty apartment into a home for two brothers, ages 23 and 16.

These young men have walked an incredibly difficult road. After losing their mom and with their dad in prison, they have experienced homelessness, group homes, and shelters. Now, the older brother has stepped into the responsibility of raising his younger brother while working to build a better future for both of them.

When we walked in today, there was very little there. A lamp, some food, and a lot of empty space.

Watching that change over the course of the day was something I will not forget.

Furniture came in. Beds and household necessities found their place. Decorations went up. Little by little, an empty apartment started becoming a place these two young men could call their own.

I am incredibly grateful I got to serve alongside Sheryl Underhill, Katie Kuriakose, Kacie Kinney, Rick and Patricia Ayling, Deidra, and the wonderful people at Heart & Home Makeovers. It was a special group of people coming together for a really meaningful purpose.

I left today grateful. Grateful for the opportunity to serve, grateful for organizations doing this work, and especially grateful to see two brothers get a fresh start together.

A home is so much more than four walls.

What an incredible thing to get to be a small part of.

This is my second year serving at the Life.Church Family Reunion, an annual event created specifically for Life.Church staff members and their spouses from across the country.

They bring everyone together for a few days of encouragement, speakers, breakout sessions, connection, and a whole lot of fun. And when you see the amount of work and attention to detail that goes into creating an experience like this, it is pretty amazing.

I am grateful for another opportunity to serve the people who spend so much of their year serving others. Seeing it all come together makes the long day completely worth it!

Date night at Chisholm Creek.

We spent some time at Chisholm Creek last weekend, and it reminded me that sometimes you just need to get out, slow down, and enjoy a night together.

Closing day!

My clients are not on social media, so I will celebrate them from here. I am incredibly grateful they trusted me with this one because, let me tell you… this transaction made us work for that closing table. But we got there!

A huge thank you to Gaye Liddle at First American Title in Yukon and Grayson Warren, the listing agent, for helping us get this one across the finish line.

And Stacy Reagor… I am not sure she has ever worked harder on a transaction. She handled curveball after curveball and just kept going. I could not do what I do without her.

Finally, thank you to Abigail Liggett for the referral. Every time someone sends a friend, family member, or client my way, I know they are putting their own trust in my hands too. I never take that lightly.

This one is about so much more than a closing.

I have known Hattie Largent since she was a kid, and I have now had the privilege of helping her purchase land and, today, a home of her own. That alone makes this one pretty special.

But what means even more is the trust her family has placed in me over the years. Jace and Sarah Largent have trusted me to help both of their kids, their parents, aunts, and other family members with some pretty big life decisions. You simply cannot put a price on that kind of trust, and I never take it for granted.

This one also required some serious work behind the scenes. We had some pretty hefty repair negotiations, but we stayed at it and were able to get everything taken care of for Hattie before closing. That’s the part of this job I love. It is not just finding the house. It is going to bat for my clients all the way to the finish line.

Apparently you can take the Realtor on an anniversary trip… but you cannot completely turn off the Realtor brain.

We left Friday for a long anniversary weekend, and at some point I found myself opening my KW app just to see what homes around us were selling and renting for. I can’t help myself!

But it reminded me of something pretty cool about this app: wherever you are, you can pull it up and see homes for sale AND for rent around you. Traveling somewhere you love?
