Why I Started in Real Estate

I get asked a lot, “Why did you get into real estate?”

For me, it started with my own experiences with moving, PCSing, and seeing firsthand how overwhelming the process of buying a home can be. Especially from out of state!

Being part of a military family has given me a unique perspective on relocation. I understand the uncertainty of moving somewhere new, learning a new area, making big decisions from a distance, and trying to turn a new house into home.

That experience is a big part of why VA and military relocations have become the area of real estate where I feel strongest.
But I don't only work with VA buyers or military families.

I work with first-time buyers, move-up buyers, sellers, investors, and anyone else who needs someone in their corner.

What matters most to me isn't the type of loan you're using or where you're coming from. It's making sure you understand the process, feel comfortable asking questions, and have someone advocating for you from start to finish.

Real estate wasn't something I got into because I just wanted to sell houses.
I got into it because I genuinely enjoy helping people through big transitions and being the person they can count on when things get complicated.

TPR Tip Tuesday: VA Appraisal vs. Home Inspection

I work with a lot of VA buyers, and this is one of the biggest misconceptions I see:

A VA appraisal is NOT a home inspection.
The appraisal is about the home’s value and VA requirements.

The inspection is about the condition of the home.

And in Florida, a clean WDO is required for VA loans.

Appraisal = value.
Inspection = condition.
WDO = required.

Know the difference before you get to closing, or call me and I’ll make sure you’re squared away. 😉

This past January, I took a pretty big leap and made a total career change.

I've been a paralegal for most of my adult life, but I knew I wanted to do something more. I wanted a career where I could make an impact in my community, build relationships, and genuinely help people through some of life’s biggest transitions.

So I took a chance on real estate.

And I can honestly say, I absolutely love this career.

Loved helping this sweet VA family find the one! With horses and a need for land, finding the right home wasn’t going to be easy. After 3 months, multiple offers, and plenty of ups and downs, they stayed strong through it all. I’m so thankful I got to be in their corner every step of the way and I couldn’t be happier for them! TPR Tip Tuesday… just arriving on Wednesday this week. 😉

One of the most valuable things an agent can have in their corner is a great lender.

I’m fortunate to have lenders I can call and know they’ll answer, whether it’s a last minute pre-approval, running numbers on a property my buyer is considering, talking through down payment assistance programs, or helping us navigate a question that comes up during a transaction.

We work hand in hand because communication matters. When my buyers need answers, I want to be able to get them answers quickly.

A good agent doesn’t just have a list of lenders to hand you. They build relationships with lenders they trust, know their strengths, and know they’ll be there when their buyers need them.

Great agents and great lenders make a strong team. And ultimately, that means better support for the buyer!
