This weekend I took a little road trip to Hillsville, Virginia for the Society of Moon and Stars glass convention, and I had the best time.
For those who may not know, I collect vintage glass, especially Moon and Stars pieces. It is one of those hobbies that makes my heart happy. I love the history, the colors, the hunt, and the people who understand why finding “just one more piece” is completely reasonable.
I was able to bring home several new pieces from the Weishar collection released this year, along with a few special finds from other collectors. And because no good road trip is complete without antique stores, I also stopped at several shops in Wytheville and found a few treasures for my Longaberger basket collection too.
The weather was cooler, the company was wonderful, and the treasure hunting was successful. That is my kind of weekend.
Real estate is a huge part of my life, but I also love sharing the pieces of me outside of contracts, showings, and closing tables. So tell me, do we have any other vintage glass collectors, antique shoppers, or Longaberger basket people here?
Because I am always looking for my people. And maybe my next treasure hunting stop.

When supply is tight, affordability gets harder, competition increases, and buyers have fewer choices.
