Talula Mesa Glamping in the Texas Hill Country with glorious views of the hills and Lake Travis.

Don’t miss the hill country super bloom!

April and May rains have brought an explosion of colorful wildflowers to the hill country.

How long will it last? Probably through June, depending on June heat and rain.

Where can you see the best wildflowers?

I drive these roads and parks daily, and here are my top recommendations as of June 1, 2026:

1. Turkey Bend Recreation Area in Marble Falls, TX.
- Don’t sleep on this one. It’s a hidden gem of a park in the north shore of Lake Travis. Right now the park is carpeted in wildflowers : think fields of yellow daisies, Indian blanket flowers, purple verbena and thistles, bee balm, Mexican hat, purple with cup; white daisies, and even some bluebonnets still peaking through.

2. Drive from Marble Falls or Kingsland to Lake Buchanan. The flowers and fields along 2241 offer incredible fields of prickly pear swimming in seas of yellow, red, and purple wildflowers.

3. Inks Lake. Hike the trails on the east side of the lake. Any and all of them.

4. Hoover Valley road is particularly pretty right now. Take a lazy hill country drive to Perissos Vineyard, taking in the stunning flower fields on the way.

I have a lot more recommendations, and some secret spots that I don’t want to get too “discovered,” if you know what I mean. But I always tell glamping guests who are interested about all of my secret destinations and recent finds.

We are so lucky to be right next to Lake Travis and Turkey Bend Recreation Area.

Have y’all been out to see the superbloom?
