When we purchased this 1832 cobblestone home in 2023, we knew we weren’t just buying a building - we were becoming part of its story.

Preserving the history and character of this incredible property while creating a home for Upstate Roots Design has been such a meaningful experience for us. We’re so grateful to (585) for sharing the story of the home, its past caretakers, and the chapter we’re lucky enough to be part of now.

We’ve had the opportunity to stage a lot more luxury properties this year - and luxury staging comes with its own set of considerations.

These homes naturally have a smaller buyer pool and can take longer to sell. They’re also a larger investment to stage…grander rooms require larger scale furniture, rugs, artwork and more inventory overall.

And at this price point, presentation matters.

This before + after shows exactly why scale is so important. The right furniture helps buyers understand the true size and function of the room, while still letting the architecture be the star.

🌴 The Golden Palms Project was one of two Upstate Roots Design projects named a Top 10 Finalist in the 2026 RESA Home Staging Industry Awards for Short-Term Rental Staging Project of the Year.

Being recognized among the Top 10 projects in the country is an honor we’ll never take for granted, and we’re excited to share a closer look at the space that earned this recognition.
