This article highlights something I experience almost every day in the Cape Town — and especially the Northern Suburbs — property market.
Having worked as an estate agent in the area for more than 15 years, I’ve had a front-row seat to the incredible growth in property values and demand. One of the biggest conversations I have with buyers, particularly those relocating from Gauteng and KZN, is the difference between what you can buy in their home provinces compared to what you can get for the same money in Cape Town.
So, why are the Northern Suburbs in such high demand?
Location – We’re roughly 20–30 minutes from Cape Town, Paarl and Stellenbosch.
Space – You can still find larger homes and bigger plots compared to many properties in the surrounding areas.
Lifestyle – We offer a fantastic balance between convenience, family living and that little bit of a country feel.
Growth – Many homeowners have seen their property values increase significantly or even double in value over the past 8–10 years.
One of the biggest factors driving this demand is the continued influx of people moving to the Western Cape and choosing the Northern Suburbs as their home.
It’s been incredible to watch these areas grow and develop over the past 15 years, and I’m excited to see what the future holds!
