Mahindra Ballito’s P*k Up S4 Single Cab: Means Business

Let's cut to it. If you're running a business and still paying premium prices for a bakkie that doesn't work harder than you do, CMH Mahindra Ballito has a very loud wake-up call parked on their floor right now. Stock is limited.
The Mahindra P*k Up S4 Single Cab is not here to impress at dinner parties. It's here to haul, tow, and outlast the competition without draining your bank account. Best-in-class cost efficiency per kilometre is not marketing waffle. It's the reason fleet managers across South Africa keep coming back.
Under the bonnet, Mahindra's proven mHawk turbo-diesel punches hard enough to back a 2.5-ton towing capacity and shove up to 1,195 kg of payload without breaking a sweat. The Solid Single Mass Flywheel means less wear, longer clutch life, and fewer bills landing on your desk.
Nationwide parts and service support means downtime stays theoretical. And with best value for money in its segment, the S4 doesn't just make business sense. It makes every competing bakkie look slightly embarrassed by its price tag.
CMH Mahindra Ballito. Limited stock. Unlimited sense. Call them on 032 946 5820 or visit their showroom at 35 Moffat Drive, Ballito.

The bush doesn't care about your to-do list. And that, honestly, is the whole point of SomkhandaThere is a moment, usually somewhere around the second game drive, just after the light turns gold and a herd of elephant moves silently across the road in front of you, when everything you were worried about completely disappears. Not because it got solved. Just because it stopped mattering. That is what Somkhanda Game Reserve does to people. It puts life back in the right order. Nestled deep in northern KwaZulu-Natal, in Mkuze, Somkhanda is home to the Big 5; lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino — living exactly as they should. Wild. Unhurried. Indifferent to your schedule. You wake to birdsong before the alarm could even think about ringing. You spend your days out in landscapes that feel ancient and infinite. And when the sun drops and the fire comes to life, you find yourself sitting still in a way that most people haven't managed in years. But here is what makes Somkhanda different from just another game reserve: it is not only about what you see. It is about what you become part of. Every guest who walks through these gates becomes a quiet participant in something larger, a conservation story that is very much still being written. The land is healing. The animals are thriving. And the people who run this place care about it in a way that you can feel immediately. "Every sunrise brings a new adventure. Every encounter tells a story. Every stay leaves something behind - in the bush, and in you." Whether you come as a couple needing to remember why you love each other, a family that has been meaning to do something like this for years, or a group of friends who want total privacy and a fire all to yourselves — Somkhanda has a place for you. Lodge accommodation that sleeps up to 16 in complete exclusivity. Wild camping beneath ancient trees at Scotia, Marula, and Tamboti — where the stars are so thick they look made-up. Simple, real, unforgettable. The team will make you feel at home from the first handshake. Carla, in particular, has the kind of easy expertise that makes every decision feel effortless — she has been doing this long enough to know that what people really need is less planning and more presence, [email protected].

Ford Everest Platinum: Where the Dunes Meet the Dream

There is a place on the northern KwaZulu-Natal coastline where the world slows down and the sand turns white and impossibly soft. Banga Nek, tucked inside the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is not a destination you stumble upon. You have to earn it.
Getting about there means committing to coastal dune terrain that will expose a lesser vehicle in minutes. The kind of sand that swallows tyres and tests resolve. But seated inside the Ford Everest Platinum, cooled to perfection, wrapped in quilted leather, with a 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen glowing softly on the dash, the drama outside felt almost cinematic. Almost unfair, even.
The Everest Platinum is powered by Ford's 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel, producing 184 kW and 600 Nm of torque, channelled through a smooth ten-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels via Ford's intelligent four-wheel drive system. On paper those numbers impress. On Banga Nek's cascading coastal dunes, they convince.
The summer heat along the Maputaland coast is not subtle. It hangs heavy, shimmers off the dunes, and reminds you at every turn that this is wild, untamed country. Inside the Everest, none of that reached us. The dual-zone climate control held its ground without argument, the ventilated front seats kept things civilised, and the terrain management system cycled quietly through its modes outside, threading the big Ford through the softest sand with a composure that felt closer to instinct than engineering.
This is the contradiction the Everest Platinum sells so beautifully. Genuinely capable off-road, yet the 360-degree camera, matrix LED headlights cutting through the coastal dusk, and Bang and Olufsen sound system filling the cabin whispered the same thing throughout. You chose well. iSimangaliso deserves a vehicle worthy of its heritage. The Ford Everest Platinum more than qualifies.
CMH Ford Ballito at 35 Moffat Drive has amazing savings on the Everest range right now. Call them on 032 946 5600, or visit the showroom, and give yourself the test drive this vehicle was designed for.
And if you want to experience Ford's finest, in the metal, CMH Ford Ballito will be at Ballito Auto Body's Car Fun Day on Saturday 20 June at New Salt Rock City Shopping Centre, Salt Rock Road, from 9am. The day before Father's Day, with the Raptor, the Mustang, the Focus ST and more on show, it is the finest gift-spotting opportunity the KZN North Coast has seen in a while. Bring Dad. Let the cars do the rest.
