CLEANING SUPERVISOR

PLACE OF WORK: (Bela-Bela)
STARTING DATE: 01 February 2020
SALARY: R 5 000.00

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The primary component of this role is to supervise the dayshift cleaning team in performing cleaning duties and associated tasks. Work will be performed in accordance with the Office Operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
• General education and training certificate: Hygiene and cleaning,
• Or any relevant qualification.

SKILLS
• 2 years’ experience,
• A reasonable level of fitness.
• Punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
• Able to manage time effectively.
• Ability to work both alone and in a team.
• Awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Reading skills for following instructions.
• Maths skills for measuring cleaning fluids.
• Fluent in English – reading, writing and speaking.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Able to supervise staff
• Honest and reliable
• Use own initiative and be proactive

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Liaise with the Manager on a daily basis regarding current tasks, and assist in the planning of future tasks.
• Ensure all assigned duties are carried out, and that resources are efficiently utilized.
• Act as a communication conduit between management and staff.
• Maintain and control use of stock, equipment & consumables.
• Timeously request purchase of consumables, equipment and materials.
• Assist the Manager to maintain the asset register.
• Monitor and report absenteeism to the Manager.
• Actively promote Health and Safety, and report any breach directly to the Manager.
• Ensure that all staff wear all appropriate PPE.
• Where required, gather and provide information on a daily, monthly and annual basis, including schedules, consumable issues and usage etc.
• Prepare overtime rosters for approval by the Manager.
• Work with members of other teams as required.
• Check all equipment that require replacement items as needed.
• Report faulty equipment to the Manager within 12 hours of breakdown.
• Ensure housekeeping standards are met and maintained in all facilities, and report shortcomings/faults to the Manager.
• Monitor standards and compliance of work performed by outsourced contractors.
• Monitor and assist in planning for holiday work requirements (bi/annual cleaning work).
• Other duties as assigned.

WORK HOURS: 8:00 am to 16:30 pm Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.

CLEANER MANAGER

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The manager is responsible for the effective and successful management of labour, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the operations department. Ensure safe and efficient operation. Work will be performed in accordance with the Office Operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
• National Certificate: hygiene and cleaning supervision,
• OR any relevant qualification
SKILLS
• Demonstrate the aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid driver’s license.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

CLEANING POST

JOB BRIEF:
We are looking for a cleaner to take care of our facilities and carry out cleaning and maintenance duties.

The goal is to keep our building in a clean and orderly condition.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
• High school Qualification
SKILLS
• Physically fit – the role requires walking, lifting, bending and other physical abilities.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Familiarity with material safety data sheet.
• Proven work experience as a cleaner

COMPETENCIES:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas ( dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents etc)
• Curry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs of repairs.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
