The 2026 Pam Golding Hangklip Marathon & Half-Marathon is officially locked in for Sunday, 25 October 2026. Presented by Hangklip Athletics Club, Raceday Events, and BMEvents (the team behind the False Bay 50), this race is designed to be beautiful, flat, and fast. (And yes, "flat" means your legs might actually forgive you afterwards).

📍 Venue: Kleinmond Picnic Spot, Western Cape
📏 Distances: 42.2km & 21.1km

The Route:
The scenic marathon route takes you along the stunning coastline, past the Palmiet River, and through Betty's Bay to the Hangklip dunes before heading back. Half-marathon runners will enjoy the same spectacular coastal views, just with an earlier turnaround point.

Standard warning: The scenery is beautiful enough to distract you, but try to keep your eyes on the road.

🌊 A Lifelong Connection to Betty’s Bay

This photograph has hung framed in our office for years, and every time I look at it, it takes me straight back to childhood summers in Betty’s Bay.

Long summer days at the beach and memories that have stayed with us forever.

I’ve been coming to Betty’s Bay since I was one year old. In fact, my family’s connection to this special village goes back to 1948, when my grandfather purchased property here. Today, there is even a road in Betty’s Bay that bears his name – Harry Starke Road.

This photo, taken at Main Beach, Betty’s Bay in the 1990s, reminds me that Betty’s Bay isn’t just a place on a map. For many of us, it’s part of who we are.

Through this page, I’d like to share not only the homes and property opportunities in Betty’s Bay, but also the stories, memories and lifestyle that make this community so special.
