As winter settles over the Cape, the ocean comes alive with the arrival of the gentle giants. Southern Right and Humpback whales begin their annual migration to our warmer waters, turning the coastline into one of the world’s most spectacular whale-watching destinations.

From the shores of False Bay to the famous cliffs of Hermanus, it’s not uncommon to spot a tail, a breach, or a playful splash just beyond the waves. A reminder that some of Cape Town’s most extraordinary experiences happen not on land, but out at sea.
