I’ve been using my simple home made cleaners for months now. Not only has it saved me THOUSANDS of Rands, it’s also reduced the amount of chemicals in our home and the amount of plastic we use. PLUS, my home is just as clean as before. 🤷‍♀️

PS: I also use ONE disinfectant (Jik / Domestos) to clean the toilet. You DON’T need to disinfect your entire home.

Also, clean does NOT have a smell. We’ve been tricked into thinking everything needs to smell like a flower. Why? Because it sells. 💸 But all those scented products are actually pretty bad for our health.

Painting multiple coats? Don’t waste time washing your brushes in between 👏

I wrap my brushes + rollers in cling wrap/plastic, and do the same with my paint tray.

✔️ 2–4 hours at room temp
✔️ Overnight if you pop it in the fridge

Such an easy way to save time, mess & paint.

Unpopular opinion about the things I leave in my Airbnb. I know it’s a drop in the ocean, but a little bit everyday = a lot. 😆

I don’t use single use sachets or soaps. I refill as much as I can — soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee, tea, sugar, you name it!

Empty, minimal & a little cold…

You can’t see it in the image. But the walls are like 10m high… it made it hard to do anything. We couldn’t paint the walls, so I decided to do paneling and paint that.

I went out of my comfort zone with this funky green.

Henty built this Floating Shelf.

Some photos & plants & it came together so nicely, but we’re not done.

We bit the bullet! Ceiling is going up.

Super excited to have some insulation!

Getting there…

Deciding on a colour from Duram’s Habitat collection

Decided on Little Karoo.

Also toned down this green. Used leftover paint from our kitchen. The colour is Lala Palm.

Moving back 🤭

lol, we need new bedding!

Finally… time to enjoy the new space.
