Creativity is always taking shape at Helderberg Village! Our Arts & Crafts Club includes a pottery group where residents can enjoy working with clay in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.

It’s all about having fun, experimenting and seeing where a little imagination takes you – from perfectly practical pieces to wonderfully quirky creations.

The group has access to the tools and equipment needed for pottery, including its own kiln for firing finished pieces.

Another little glimpse into the many creative pursuits happening behind the scenes at Helderberg Village.

🌿Helderberg Village now has its very own nursery, where we propagate plants and build up stock to beautify our Village gardens.

Thanks to generous plant donations from villagers and valuable input from the Garden Club, we are growing indigenous South African plants suited to our environment, with careful consideration given to root systems and leaf litter. There is even a section for cut flowers to brighten the Clubhouse tables!

The plants are grown exclusively for use throughout the Village and are not for sale to villagers - but who knows? If the nursery flourishes and produces a surplus, we may even have a plant sale one day!

🎶 THE MARIMBA IS BACK! 🎶

The Helderberg Village Music Society is delighted to welcome Dylan Tabisher back to Helderberg Village on Sunday, 20 September 2026.

Following his wonderful concert with us last year, Dylan returns with a fascinating new solo programme featuring music by Bach, Keiko Abe, Piazzolla, Lennon & McCartney, contemporary composers — and Dylan himself.

From Bach's beautiful Cello Suite No. 1 to Blackbird, Sage and A Prayer for Healing, this promises to be an afternoon of colour, rhythm, warmth and musical surprises.

Helderberg Village CEO Sue Smith, Estate Manager Johan Loubser and Clubs & Events Coordinator Estie du Toit attended the 2026 Club Management Association of South Africa (CMASA) Conference at Arabella.

CMASA supports professionals who manage clubs, estates and lifestyle communities through training, shared industry knowledge and collaboration.

Sue was also honoured to be appointed CMASA Chairperson for the next two years and joined the conference speaker programme. The team returned inspired by fresh ideas to help make Helderberg Village an even better place to live.

🌳 A Reminder to Help Us Grow a Greener Village 🌳

On Thursday, 24 September 2026, Helderberg Village residents are invited to support the Garden Club’s tree-planting project as part of an international "Plant a Billion Trees" campaign.

Residents can take part by donating, sponsoring or helping to plant a suitable tree within the village. Every tree planted is a meaningful contribution towards a greener, healthier environment for future generations.

As the Garden Club says: “My tree, my oxygen.”

Let us come together and make a lasting difference, one tree at a time. 🌿
