Charly’s Bakery is a feast for the eyes as well as the sweet tooth, with loads of different and colourful cakes, cupcakes and bakes to choose from.

There are gluten-free and vegan options too, so everyone in the group can enjoy a treat, whatever they eat. It’s a lovely stop for a coffee-and-cake moment, a family outing or something special to take back to the villa.

Out the gate, onto the sand 🏖️

Tucked into the dunes of Long Beach in Kommetjie, this charming timber-framed cottage has the sea on its doorstep. Step from the timber deck, through the garden gate, and you’re on the beach.

We asked Kylie a few questions about life in Cape Town, and here’s what she told us.

What’s your favourite thing about Cape Town?

“My Cape Town revolves around the sea and the mountains - if I’m not in one I’m in the other. My favourite thing about Cape Town is that the most incredible natural wonders are always just a few minutes away. When I’m not in the sea or on a trail, you can find me in a restaurant. As a big foodie we are really spoiled for choice, from high end dining to coffee with a view.”

What’s one place in Cape Town you’d recommend to a guest?

“It’s hard to pick just one Cape Town favourite but for me there is something pretty magical about a swim at Boulders Beach with penguins waddling past you.”

What’s your favourite CVC property and why?

“Picking my favourite villa is a tricky one, they all have something unique to offer but Pelican House in Kommetjie which is new to the portfolio is spectacular. The views are incredible, the sunsets are stunning it has a relaxed yet luxurious feel and beautiful entertaining areas.”

What’s one thing you think makes a great holiday?

“For me the perfect holiday mixes adventure with downtime as well as big family dinners and lunch in your swimming costume.”
