The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has voted to cut interest rates in South Africa by another 25 basis points.

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has voted to cut the country’s interest rates by 25 basis points.

This brings the repo rate down to 7.25% and the prime lending rate to 10.75%.

The Reserve Bank has brought some relief to South Africans, voting to cut rates by 25 basis points.

SA Reserve Bank cuts interest rates by 0.25%

"This comes after the central bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted for a 25BPS cut, which translates to a 0.25% cut in the repurchase rate (repo rate).

This means that the repo rate will come down from 7.75%% to 7.50% while the prime lending rate decreases from 11.25% to 11%."
