South Africa’s inflation is now sitting at 3.1% — one of the lowest levels we’ve seen in years 📉

That’s great news for consumers and homeowners, because it puts us right where the South African Reserve Bank wants inflation to be.

BUT (and there’s always a but)… ⛽

Fuel prices are starting to rise again, which could push inflation slightly higher in the months ahead.

So what does this mean?

👉 Interest rates have likely reached their peak
👉 Rate cuts are coming — but not immediately
👉 The Reserve Bank will move carefully to avoid inflation rising again

🏡 For property buyers, this creates an interesting moment:
You can still buy before demand increases — but with more certainty that interest rate relief is on the way.
