Who is actually running the business of your life?

There is a destructive pattern we fall into. We say we trust God, but we keep our hands firmly on the steering wheel of our families, our careers, and our bank accounts.

The cure for this anxiety is total surrender. You need to visualize the Lord sitting in the CEO chair of your life, taking full responsibility for the outcomes.

The choice is binary. Either you occupy the throne of your life and drown in constant worry, or God occupies it and you experience His peace.

Seek His kingdom first. Hand over the details of your real estate deals, your children, and your health. Once you place those files on the desk of the CEO, you must not reach back and take them again.

You are treating your eternal soul like a temporary problem.

Look out at the fynbos or the lilies of the field. They do not toil, sweat, or hustle to survive. Yet, even King Solomon in all his royal wealth was not dressed as beautifully as one of these wild flowers.

God cares deeply for His creation, even the flora that blooms today and fades tomorrow.

Worry is illogical because it fears for the temporal while forgetting the eternal. If God pours such intricate care into a flower with a lifespan of a few days, how much more will He clothe, protect, and provide for you? You are not a fleeting thought. You are His eternal child.

Panic has never closed a deal or paid a single bill.

Jesus asked a piercing question about worry. He asked who among us can add a single cubit to our height by worrying. The answer is obvious. You cannot worry yourself into being eighteen inches taller, and you cannot worry a pending contract into signing faster.

Worry is completely ineffective. It is a futile thief that demands your energy but pays absolutely zero dividends. Instead of fixing your problems, it slowly breaks down your health, your peace, and your mind.

We must stop investing our mental capital into a habit that only bankrupts our spirit.

Your anxiety is failing the test of logic.

Let us look at the facts. You believe in a Sovereign God who architected the universe and knit you together. Yet, when it comes to the bond repayment or the survival of your business, panic sets in.

This is fundamentally inconsistent. If God has provided the greater miracle of life itself, He is more than capable of providing the lesser things you need to survive.

Jesus points us to the birds of the air. They do not obsess over their next meal or stockpile resources, yet the Sustainer feeds them. You are of infinitely greater value than the birds.

Worry is an irrational response to uncertainty because it forgets the proven character of the God who serves as your Anchor.
