the country. By 2008 it founded its own in-house bond origination company, known as Rawson Finance. Fast track a few more years, and Rawson Properties is now the forerunner in the South African property industry with over 200 Franchises and around 2000 agents nationwide, and was recently awarded the most innovative real estate brand, best real estate marketing and best real estate brand at the Global Brands Awards. The Western Cape has a demand advantage that most other provinces do not have.

People are not only buying property here because they need a house, they are buying into lifestyle, governance, schools, safety perception, infrastructure, municipal reliability, and long-term confidence.

I do believe Cape Town’s governance versus Johannesburg has become a real property-market factor. The Western Cape is strong, but buyers are not desperate - they are selective. If your property is priced correctly, the market will respond. If it is priced on emotion, the market will expose it.
