A NEW POINT OF VIEW

Our new visual identity began with a shared understanding: design should reveal something the closer you look.

Working with Austrian artist and designer Max Jurasch , we transformed our imagery into something bold, contemporary and distinctly our own. His devotion to craft—and fascination with the animal world—brought South Africa’s Big Five into the story with wit, beauty and a certain wild confidence.

Born in South Africa, raised in Austria and at home in Africa again for the past 20 years, I have always designed between two worlds. European rigour. African instinct. Ideas shaped by both.

This is more than a new look. It is our design ethos, made visible.

CROSS POLLINATION

Austrian artist and designer has worked with our imagery to create a new visual identity for My Place in Cape Town—bold, contemporary and deeply considered.

Born in South Africa, raised in Austria and at home in Africa again for the past 20 years, I have always lived between two cultures. Our work is shaped by this cross-pollination: European precision meets the instinct, energy and soul of Africa. Max understood this immediately. His dedication to craft mirrors our own, while his enduring fascination with the animal world allowed us to play with South Africa’s Big Five in a way that feels intelligent, unexpected and distinctly ours.

Together, we have made our design ethos visible.

TEAL DEAL

A master suite shaped by sleek lines, hidden moments and a deep love of teal. Pocket doors disappear into the walls, revealing a concealed dressing area, while sculptural details and rich textures turn the entire top floor into a private retreat—bold, polished and deeply personal.

Designed across levels, the house unfolds as one continuous composition—each plane, opening and material considered in relation to the next. As the sun moves through, light connects it all, shifting the architecture from sculptural to cinematic.

At golden hour, the house becomes an instrument for light—stone warms, glass glows and every sculptural line draws the sunset deeper inside. Perched between mountain and Atlantic, it doesn’t simply frame the view; it catches the last light and turns it into atmosphere.
