This weekend we paused to reflect on the journey that continues to bring us freedom, dignity and equal rights for all — and celebrate the communities and families we are proud to support every day.

Human Rights Day reminds us that every person deserves respect, safety and the freedom to live well with those they love.

Let’s continue to cherish these values in our homes and communities. ❤️

Is your Sectional Title Scheme's insurance truly fit for purpose — or just renewed each year?

An annual insurance review is more than a premium check. It helps trustees ensure the policy structure properly reflects the sectional title scheme's real risks — from geysers and storm damage to liability and fidelity cover.

A proactive review can help:
• Reduce the risk of underinsurance and special levies
• Prevent recurring claims
• Understand and manage premium increases
• Strengthen compliance and good governance

Insurance should support a well-run sectional title, not create surprises after a claim. Trustees carry a serious fiduciary responsibility — the right review provides clarity, sustainability, and confidence.

Speak to your broker about a structured sectional title scheme insurance review this February.

Today is all about slowing down and cherishing the special people in our lives — the partners, family, friends and loved ones who make every day brighter. Whether it’s a quiet moment at home, a simple meal shared or laughter with those closest to you, it’s the time spent together that truly matters.

We’re also grateful for the vibrant communities we support — where neighbours care, families grow, and connections thrive. Here’s to love in all its forms and the joy of being with those who mean the most.

Cape Town is calling on residents to be more conscious of water use — every drop counts.

Cape Town has previously come very close to running out of municipal water during the 2017–2018 drought — a crisis known as “Day Zero,” when taps nearly ran dry, and strict restrictions were enforced to avoid disaster.

That crisis showed us how quickly water security can change — and why we must stay water-wise.

To help protect our city’s supply:
🚿 Take short, stop-start showers and don’t let taps run unnecessarily
🚽 Only flush when necessary — and never use the toilet as a dustbin
🪣 Reuse greywater (within 24 hours) for flushing toilets as a priority
🌱 Water gardens before 9am or after 6pm and mulch soil to reduce evaporation
🏊 Cover pools and avoid using municipal drinking water for top-ups
🧺 Only run full loads of laundry and dishes 🔧 Check for leaks, reduce water pressure where possible, and install low-flow fittings 🌧 Harvest rainwater safely (not for drinking or cooking)

Remember: the more we save, the less we pay — and the more water remains in our dams.

If you notice burst pipes or water wastage, report it immediately.

Let’s work together to keep Cape Town water secure — not just in a crisis, but every day. 💙
