The Daily – Greenpoint, Construction Update – October / November 2024

We are pleased to announce the commencement of works at The Daily. Franki, our appointed Geotechnical Engineering Contractor, officially took hand over of the site in September. Having established themselves, they have made significant progress.

Given the large extent of the site, it has been segmented into 3 phased zones. The soldier pile installation is near complete. The trimming, binding and capping is simultaneously being undertaken across the phases, with the bulk excavation and lateral support underway in collaboration with Ross Demolitions.

Looking forward towards December and the closure of 2024, the target is the completion of excavation, capping beam and lateral support for basement level 1.

With Cape Town’s glorious summer season upon us, we are hoping for continued good weather, which will enable us to complete the earthworks and lateral support by early March 2025, if not sooner, thereafter handing over to the main contractor. We are very excited to bring this phenomenal project to life!
