𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥: 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝗕𝗨𝗗𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧
Parents, tonight is the night. We have the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝟳𝗣𝗠 at Sunningdale Primary, and we 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟳𝟴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁.

I am so excited for tonight. It will be so wonderful to chat with new and familiar faces... we are definitely overdue for a catch-up, and camp night feels like ages ago. Plus, my little guy is beyond thrilled about the idea of going to school at night in his PJs. 🤣

The school has gone above and beyond to make attending as easy and fun as possible for us:
💚 𝗣𝗝 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀: Drop them off from 18h15 in their favourite pajamas. They will be fully supervised and get to hang out with friends, so no babysitters needed.
💚 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 for the first 178 parents to arrive.
💚 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗯𝗼𝘅 𝗩𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 for our kids.
💚 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘀 & 𝗜𝗰𝗲-𝗟𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 THIS FRIDAY for the entire school if we meet our quorum.

The school has put in so much effort to support us, now it is our turn to show up for them.

Access to the SPS Budget 2027 documents is available on ClassDojo if you’d like to review them ahead of time.

I will be there in person, and trust me... I will be calling you if we fall short of quorum 🤣😉

See you all tonight

(Quick neighbourly reminder: Please be mindful when parking and keep driveways and grass clear around the school area.)

I DID IT 🎀

I finally had my annual mammogram and breast ultrasound (sonar), and I am so glad it is checked off the list. And yes... I got a cookie for my bravery 🍪 (thank you OHMYDOUGH. )

If you are anything like me, booking a mammogram can come with a bit of dread or anxiety. My experience at Morton and Partners Radiologists (at Netcare Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital) was such a gentle reminder of how supportive health checks can be.

Walking into the room, it almost felt like stepping into a spa. The room was warm, smelled absolutely lovely, and was filled with fresh flowers. The team was all dressed in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and their kindness and gentleness completely took away that cold, medical feeling.

It honestly made the whole process feel like a little self-care ritual.

A few gentle takeaways to pass along to my local community:

🎀 October Special: Did you know that mammograms are often offered at a discounted rate during October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month? It’s a great time to book.

🎀 Sonar vs. Scan: A breast ultrasound (sonar) is often paired with your mammogram to give a complete, clear picture, especially for dense breast tissue.

🎀 Prioriritise YOURSELF : You spend so much time looking after everyone else, but your health matters too.

Consider this your friendly reminder: please get your checks done. Your bo***es deserve love, care, and attention

REAL TALK from one local mom to another:
Today I am going for my annual mammogram.

Even knowing how important it is, I still get a little nervous, and let’s be honest... it is never a comfortable experience. But taking care of our health is the greatest foundation we can build for ourselves and our families.

If you have been waiting for a sign or a gentle push to schedule your screening or do a self-check... THIS IS IT.

Let’s support and encourage each other to put our health first this October.

Who else has booked theirs or is due for a check-up this month? Drop a 🩷 below and let’s keep each other accountable.

Happy Teacher’s Day to all of our amazing teachers here in Sunningdale

Honestly, where would we be without you?
Everyday, you pour so much patience, kindness, and hard work into our kids. You are not just teaching them math or reading, you are wiping away tears, cheering on their little wins, helping them figure out who they are, and showing up with a smile even on the extra-chaotic days.

It takes a truly special kind of heart to do what you do, and we see you.

Thank you for loving our kids, guiding them, and keeping our community’s schools such a safe, wonderful place to grow.

We appreciate you more than words can say 🫶

Cupcakes of Hope: TODAY at Table Bay Mall
Such a beautiful, uplifting initiative in our community today.

I popped down to Table Bay Mall CT (right outside Checkers) and bumped into a few familiar faces at the Cupcakes of Hope stand, hosted by the amazing Gabi Lazarus and her hardworking team.

As a daughter of an angel, I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous purple flower cupcakes. My family and I will be enjoying them today in special remembrance of my mother.

Gabi and these incredible ladies have worked tirelessly baking the most beautiful, delicious treats to raise money for children fighting cancer. There are even some awesome rugby-themed cupcakes ready for tomorrow’s game.

They are only there TODAY, so hurry down, grab a box, and support this wonderful cause
