🔥 CRUMBLING WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PUSHES PTA GARDENS & DASPOORT TO BREAKING POINT 🔥
🔥
📍 Louise Street, Pta Gardens📍 Caledon Street, Daspoort📅 16 May 2026⏰ 15h00
Residents of Pta Gardens and Daspoort are once again left frustrated after yet another water pipe burst on Louise Street in Pta Gardens and Caledon Street in Daspoort.
The question must be asked: how many times must the same pipes burst before the City of Tshwane realises that patchwork repairs are no longer a solution?
Over the years, the city has spent countless hours and resources repairing short sections of deteriorating pipes, replacing couplings and joints that continue to weaken with time. Instead of continuously fixing small sections only for another burst to happen weeks or months later, the city should be investing in complete water infrastructure replacement projects.
The aging water network in Pta Gardens and Daspoort has reached a critical stage. Every burst pipe results in massive water losses, damaged roads, interrupted water supply, and frustration for residents who are expected to pay for services while infrastructure continues collapsing around them.
Residents deserve a long-term solution, not temporary repairs that simply delay the next disaster. The City of Tshwane must prioritise the replacement of old water pipes and invest seriously in infrastructure renewal before even greater losses occur.
Enough is enough. We cannot continue losing millions of litres of water through outdated infrastructure while residents suffer repeated disruptions.
