It was announced today by the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) that the Real Estate Industry can resume activities from Monday 1 June 2020. This follows the official announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday 24th May, that the whole country will move from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3 on 1 June 2020.

Government has changed the rules about moving house during Lockdown Level 4.

According to News24 new regulations have just been released for those who need to move house across provincial, metropolitan or district boundaries.

Previously, government said that people can move to new homes on a once-off basis only until 7th June. But this deadline has now been dropped and the new regulations only govern moves during Level 4.

The new regulations also allow victims of domestic violence to move to a different place, and businesses are allowed to relocate to new premise.

The same rules still apply with regards to the documentation that is required when moving.
