A dream in the making for a long time coming, last week we soft launched www.jobsforgood.co.za

Still in its early stages, the platform connects local job seekers with retailers opening in our upcoming developments.

Completely free to use, community members load their CVs, info and contact details to the mobile platform. Retailers looking for employees are then able to request access to the data and contact applicants that meet their employment needs.

The uniqueness lies in the ability to clean the data and provide only local residents information, thus driving our mantra of .

When signing off a signals more than just closing a deal…

It’s been 15 years in the making but Edendale Mall is FULLY LET.

This incredible asset in Pietermaritzburg, KZN, has put us through our paces over the past decade and a half...

First opened in September 2011 as Greater Edendale Mall, the centre was just over 31 000sqm and offered anchor, food, fashion and banking facilities to community members – but trade was slower than expected.

And the asset struggled.

Then COVID-19 hit.

And the asset struggled.

Then the hit.

And the asset burned. Literally.

But that was the turning point – a reworked layout reduced the GLA to 29656sqm. The tenant mix was improved, the lighting and bulkheads were lifted and the walkways were widened.

The centre was renamed Edendale Mall and a local designer was commissioned to redesign the logo.

Edendale Mall had never looked better, but the leasing team was patient.

Tenant mix and layouts were carefully selected to ensure we improved the original asset. A vacancy was worth waiting for the perfect tenant, even if it took a year or two… and it shows.

Now finally fully let, the mall is one of the best performing in the portfolio from both a turnover, footcount and entertainment perspective.

Today we are celebrating and more than just closing a deal...
