Here's a quick look back at the last Soweto Uprising Event held at Soweto Theatre in June 2017. The highlight of the event was the screening of the documentary film "Kasi Rap Records" directed by Jef Wasedk. The screening was proceeded by a panel discussion.

Come join us this Sunday, 16 June, at Slaghuis Studios in Diepkloof zone 4 (opposite Diepkloof Square) for another screening followed by performances by some of Soweto's most talented artists, namely; Bantu Speaking, Shynin Armour, Amukelani, Infektist, DangerBox vol 2 (MaseVen Opse, Axe Ray & Froz), Overkill, Mreja, Eminent Fam SA, Theo Songstress and Jef. DJ's McLuven and DeSonic SA will also be doing the most on the decks!

Soweto Uprising is a free event commemorating the South African youth of June 1976. The event will include live performances from musicians (Shynin Armour, Infektist, Bantu Speaking, Jef Wasedk, Mreja, Overkill, Theo Songstress, Amukelani, Eminent Fam SA and DangerBox vol 2 - MaseVen, Axe Ray & Froz), DJ sets, graffiti, and a film screening.

Come join us at Slaghuis Studios (opposite Diepkloof Square, Soweto) this Sunday, June 16 for a beautiful celebration of youth through art.

Check out "The Lion's Share". A documentary about South African born composer Solomon Linda and how the rights to his song "Imbube" (recorded in the 1930s) were stolen from him back in the 1950s. The song went on to make millions and music history as being one of the most re-made songs of all-time. His family is still struggling to receive what is due to them to this day.
